What have I been up to lately?

Answer - feeling the end of needles and being stretched and pulled in all sorts of directions! Now if that doesn't give you motivation to get up in the morning I don't know what will. =) I've been having problems with my hip and leg for a while now but it came to a climax over a week ago when I found myself lying on the floor in more than just a little bit of pain and having to call someone to come and help me get back up. Very thankful for cell phones! Relief is slowly coming through different treatments - physio, electro therapy, magnetic therapy, ultrasound therapy and let's not forget those injections. =) Many of you have been praying and for that I am very thankful. Looking forward to the day when I get the OK to go for a walk!! I have been encouraged over and over again of God's faithfulness. A friend reminded me of this promise and I'll leave it with you to ponder as well "My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and portion forever" Psalm 73:26

Twinkle

Just over a year ago my 3 year old nephew, Trevor, was diagnosed with a form of cancer called Rhabdomyosarcoma. It has been a long journey for this little guy but through the radiation and chemo treatments, the smile and twinkle in his eyes remain. There will be more scans that Trevor will have to have done in the future but up until this point the doctors are pleased with his progress. Thank you to all who prayed for him and my family during this time. My brother sent me this photo last week and so I thought I would share it with all of you! Both are pretty cute if you ask me but I might be a bit biased. =)

The Pile is Gone!!

Over a year and a half ago I started the process of trying to find someone to help me with the removal of the garbage in front of my house. A few weeks ago a "beautiful" tractor and truck came and removed the eyesore! Many thanks goes to Natasha and her husband Alyosha for being the instruments in making this happen!

God's Favor

Thank you again to all who have been praying for my nephew Trevor. He went in for another CAT Scan a few weeks ago and the doctors were amazed at what they DIDN'T find. There was no evidence at all that anything was ever wrong and where there should have been scar tissue there wasn't any!! Thank-you Father!!! Trevor is still undergoing chemo treatment and is almost half-way through. Thanks again for your continued prayers and encouraging e-mails!

Moles

Moles, I have moles. Not the kind on your body but the kind that leave nice little piles of dirt all throughout your yard. This got me thinking about my Grandma and Grandpa. Not that they look like moles. =) I was just missing them and knew that if they were still on this earth I could have called them and asked them what I should do about these pests. Even though they have been gone for a while now, I found tears in my eyes. My Grandpa was a great example of Christ and what it meant to love and my Grandma always had a hot cup of tea or coffee and a plateful of goodies ready to serve whenever anyone stopped by for a visit. Their door and hearts were always open. Very thankful for examples like that in my life!

A New Creation

These past few months I have been reminded again and again of how important it is to remember that we are new creations in Christ! The old is gone and the new has come! I was reading 2 Peter 1 this morning and was reminded of the following illustration. “Before his transformation into a butterfly, the caterpillar spends all his time crawling slowing along. When he comes out of his cocoon what happens if he doesn’t discover that he has wings? He will continue to inch along thinking he is still a caterpillar. The fact is, he is a butterfly and has at his disposal the capability of soaring to new heights. What used to take hours to cover a certain distance could now take seconds, if only he knew that he is a butterfly!”
